The Omaha Community Playhouse is the largest community theater in the nation and is celebrating its 85th Anniversary during the 2009-2010 Season. The Playhouse features local talent both on stage and behind the scenes and achieves production values comparable to a professional theater. The Howard Drew Theatre is a flexible theatre space with approximately 200 seats. The Howard and Rhonda Hawks Mainstage Theatre is a classic proscenium style theatre with 550 seats. The Omaha Community Playhouse offers 9 regular season productions and 3 special events for the 2009-2010 Season. For 85 years, the Playhouse has been a cultural gem in the city of Omaha. Accessible.
