Bridge at zoo

Explore deserts, oceans, butterfly gardens and jungles at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium and you will quickly see why this zoo is unique.  Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is home to the world’s largest indoor desert where visitors are immersed in a world of meerkats, hummingbirds, cactus and sand dunes.  Sunlight shines into the desert through the transparent glazed geodesic dome, the largest of its kind in the world.  Kingdoms of the Night, the world’s largest nocturnal exhibit featuring the world’s largest indoor swamp, can be found below the desert.

America’s largest indoor rainforest can also be found at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium.  Visitors set their eyes on colorful birds, swinging gibbons and swimming pygmy hippos in this tropical habitat.  Thirteen crashing waterfalls enhance the experience.  The Scott Aquarium is the largest aquarium found inside a Zoo where visitors can walk on the bottom of the ocean, gaze at jellyfish and come eye to eye with a stingray. Zoo Aquarium

Many animals call the Zoo home including gorillas, sharks, giraffes, lions, penguins, bears, tigers, rhinos, tropical fish, monkeys and the list goes on….
