Located in the middle of the scenic University of Nebraska Omaha campus, Al F. Caniglia Field opened its doors for soccer action on Oct. 26, 2013. The state-of-the-art facility is one of the best on-campus soccer-specific stadiums in the country.
Caniglia Field has a permanent seating capacity of 3,097, including 1,390 chairback seats, and VIP boxes located on the first level of the press box. The field features a 21-foot by 42-foot LED video board and scoreboard along with lighting structures to provide the ultimate night soccer experience. The Omaha soccer pitch, installed by Hellas Construction, is the only NCAA Division I field to receive the prestigious FIFA Recommended 2-Star certification. The state-of-the-art soccer-specific turf features a lower grain that allows the ball to move faster and an infill of ground coconut husks and cork to keep the on-field temperature lower.
The stadium has handicapped reserved seating on the main concourse level, as well as numerous amenities for both Maverick soccer programs. Media members have access to a climate controlled press box, which includes power and high-speed internet portals (along with wireless Internet capability).
