There are various options for young women to get involved in our league program, which is designed for teams throughout the Omaha Metro area. If you are interested in Umpiring, please reach out to Jeff Riley, GOSL Head Umpire at: RileyJ28@yahoo.com

Girls’ Fast Pitch Leagues Designed for Competitive Players and Teams

All of the teams in these leagues are “select” teams that regularly travel to weekend tournaments and seek the highest level of competition. These teams typically practice all winter and eventually will play up to 60-70 games through the end of the summer. These leagues are designed for the softball player that—in the early age divisions (8U-10U-12U-14U)—wants to develop the necessary skills for high school varsity competition.

The older age division (16U-18U) generally includes players who are members of their high school teams. Nearly every team plays in post season tournaments, seeking to advance on to regional and national competition. The age groups available are 8U-10U-12U-14U-16U-18U.

Generally, league competition will begin the third week in April and continue through late June with a potential rain make-up date prior to Independence Day.

General League Overview

  • Division I is designed for those teams with players who have advanced skills and are committed to playing a “competitive” schedule (historically, this is where A and / or B teams register)
  • Division II is for teams for players with good softball skills but prefer to play in a less competitive environment (historically, this is where B and / or C teams register)
