Restaurant Week: Le Bouillon

Restaurant Week is like an annual holiday – an opportunity (or excuse?) to dine at Omaha restaurants I may not otherwise enjoy in the foreseeable future. More restaurants than I could count on two hands, of 60+ participating restaurants, were personal contenders. Le Bouillon, a fairly laid-back French restaurant in Omaha’s Old Market Entertainment District, won my pick for a number of reasons: novelty, menu and ambiance (perfect for date night).

Le Bouillon focuses on farm-to-fork comfort food from rural France.

Omaha Family Vacation Just Got Cheaper

Wednesday, August 17, 2016 11:55 AM by Stefanie, Making of a Mom

As one final trip before summer ends and we head back to school my family took an #OmahaWeekend vacation in Nebraska. Visit Omaha reached out to me to tell me about their new Omaha Savings App and invited my family to come enjoy some of the attractions that are featured on that app. We were so excited to visit places we’ve been before and some new destinations as well.

Time to rack up those IHG points! If your family is enjoying the multitude of things to do in Omaha, consider hanging your hat at the Holiday Inn-Downtown Omaha. This hotel, a few blocks away from the concentration of downtown attractions, has just the right balance of quality and family-friendly touches to make it a home away from home.

Last weekend, we headed up north to Omaha for a quick weekend away. Some of my husband's family lives in Omaha, so I've been there toooons of times, and especially since having kids, the trip is usually pretty similar each time. But this time, some of our good friends - a family of four - decided to come with us, which ended up offering a new twist to our typical Omaha trip!
