  • More Info: Join us for a lecture with Historian Alessandra Link on the Indigenous perspective of the building of the transcontinental railroad. Feat of engineering to some, for Tribal Nations this project was more an act of conquest for Native peoples. Dr. Link will explore how Indigenous communities engaged, often violently, with railroad construction crews who churned the soils on the homeland of Pawnees, Paiutes, Shoshones, Lakotas and others.
