Add an “S” to Cheat Day

Consistently ranked as a “Top Foodie Destination” Omaha is filled with travel-worthy cuisine.

Omaha’s reputation as a beef destination has been seasoned to perfection with steakhouses throughout the city known as masters of prep: flame-broiled, whisked-doused, and wood-grilled – all delicious and all uniquely Omaha.

Carnivores continue to feed the need with a true Omaha original, the Reuben sandwich. Yep, the American classic was invented (and perfected) in Omaha. While local restaurants add their own twist - the original consists of two pieces of grilled marble rye stuffed with corned beef topped with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and creamy Russian/Thousand Island dressing.

It’s all awe-worthy food, but some attendees really want a challenge. Push aside the fruit cup and take on the Stellanator, a massive 4.5 lb. burger known to make grown men cry big meaty tears. The 4,900 calorie meal includes six beef patties, six fried eggs, six slices of cheese, 12 pieces of bacon, lettuce, tomato, fried onions, pickles, jalapeños and peanut butter. Only 19 have finished–more people have been to the moon. How’s that for a cheat day? In Omaha you’ll need more than one.
