OMA Tourism Awards Nominations
Who in your organization has gone above and beyond to offer the best customer service in the business? It’s your turn to celebrate their hard work and honor them for their outstanding contribution to tourism. Make your nominations by Friday, April 3rd.

Here are the nine award categories:
Managers
Outstanding Manager of the Year: Includes managers in hotels, attractions, restaurant/catering or retail outlets/personal services.
Hotels
Outstanding Service in Hotel Operations: Includes housekeeping, laundry, room attendant, and maintenance staff (non-supervisory staff only)
Outstanding Guest Services - Hotel: Includes front desk, transportation, reservations, bell/porter, concierge, telephone operator, and gift shop staff (non-supervisory staff only)
Restaurants/Catering (includes banquet staffing)
Best Front of the House: Includes servers, bartenders, cashiers, barista, and hosts (non-supervisory staff only)
Best Heart of the House: Includes line cooks, salad prep, dishwashers, bussers, and other kitchen staff (non-supervisory staff only)
Attractions
Outstanding Service in Attraction Operations: Includes custodial, grounds keeping, maintenance, and other operations staff (non-supervisory staff only)
Outstanding Guest Services - Attraction: Includes admission, gift shop, docent, administrative support, and other guest services staff (non-supervisory staff only)
Retail Outlets and Personal Services
Outstanding Customer Service – Retail and Personal Services: Includes retail, spa, and salon staff from locally owned and national chain locations. (non-supervisory staff only)
Volunteers
Outstanding Volunteer: Includes volunteers serving in a variety of capacities
Nominations deadline: Friday, April 3, 2020 (by midnight)
Eligibility requirements: Nominees must be employed at a hotel, restaurant, caterer, attraction, spa, salon or retail shop in Douglas, Pottawattamie or Sarpy Counties.
Judging: One finalist will be chosen from each of the three counties, with a winner selected by a committee of hospitality peers from the three finalists in each category. The nomination must explain how the nominee is:
- Customer service minded
- Self-motivated
- A team player
- A strong communicator
- Ethical
- Loyal
- A promoter of the Omaha metro area
Please note: A successful nomination includes supporting documentation (i.e. a letter from a guest, comment card, employee of the month nomination, a letter from a supervisor, etc.) Descriptive nominations are encouraged to help judges understand the positive impact of the nominee.
