For art lovers, Kaneko is the place to see. Established by Jun Kaneko and his wife Ree, Kaneko is an “open space for your mind” with all the galleries free and open to the public. Meet Bob the Bridge, aka the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. Connecting Iowa and Nebraska, Bob is Omaha’s tweeting, Instagramming, and video-blogging bridge who is always looking to make new friends. Get ready for the whole family to learn through play! The Omaha Children’s Museum features outstanding interactive permanent exhibits focused on art, science and early childhood education. At Nebraska’s premier center for visual arts, the Joslyn Art Museum showcases soaring spaces, elegant ambience, and grand architecture. Choo-Choo! The Durham Museum makes its home in the National Historic Landmark of Omaha’s beautiful art deco Union Station. The museum houses an extraordinary array of permanent exhibits including restored train cars, 1940s storefronts, numerous artifacts show the history of the region, and the Byron Reed collection which includes some of the world’s rarest coins and documents. Omaha is home to the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, displaying the world’s largest indoor desert and nocturnal exhibits along with North America’s largest indoor rainforests. Other world-class exhibits include the Scott Aquarium, Hubbard Orangutan Forest and Gorilla Valley.
