Active Adventurer – Itinerary

We’re here to help you get out and moving in an outdoor enthusiast’s playground with miles of trails, area lakes and rivers, forest hiking paths, and parks, gardens, and green spaces sprinkled in between. Below is a recommended itinerary to guide your next heart-pumping and soul-rejuvenating visit to Omaha.

Welcome to Omaha! Kick off your active stay with a meal at one of Omaha’s most vibrant restaurants, Memoir. Entrée options include everything from rigatoni to filet mignon.

Wake up with Bob

…We’re talking a workout, here. The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, or “Bob,” is connected to 150 miles of trails. Complete his 0.9k challenge and earn your very own marathon sticker (hey, you earned it). Tip: There is a bikeshare stall under Bob.

Breakfast at Zen Coffee Co.

Fuel up for an active day at Omaha’s Zen Coffee Company, which has built their name on coffee and toast flights made to order. Order a toast flight and select any four toast options from their current toast menu (gluten-free and vegan options available) at any of their three local locations. Toast options include Strawberry Nutella Toast and Lox Toast. Tip: To guarantee this experience, call ahead to make a board reservation.

Fun at TreeRush 

TreeRush Adventures at Fontenelle Forest is an exhilarating way to experience the forest. Navigate suspended obstacles, bridges, rope ladders, tunnels, and other surprises in this aerial amusement park.

Hike at Fontenelle Forest

After traversing the forest, head next store for a cooldown on Fontenelle Forest’s 19 miles of trails of varying lengths and climbs. Try snowshoeing in the wintertime and go home with a renewed appreciation of the season.

Dinner at Block 16

Reward all today’s efforts with dinner at Block 16, serving up mouth-watering farm-to-table street food. It’s so popular, there’s often a line out the door.

Breakfast at Lula B’s Breakfast Brunch & Bar

Explore The RiverFront

Get in your morning movement at the tri-park The RiverFront in the heart of downtown Omaha and along the river. Roller skate or ice skate on the Skate Ribbon, and walk the trails and admire the sculpture garden, city views and more.
