Cinco de Mayo

A longtime staple event in the heart of South Omaha, Cinco de Mayo Omaha is a vibrant festival known to attract as many as 200,000 regional visitors each year.

As one of the city’s largest and most diverse community celebrations, there’s a lot to experience at Cinco de Mayo Omaha. For three days, visitors encounter a street fair with block after block of tantalizing food options, artisan vendors selling their wares, and live music and dance performances sprinkled throughout. The weekend’s centerpiece is a two-mile long parade that makes its way down South 24th Street Saturday morning.

South Omaha is a neighborhood with a rich history of celebrations. In fact, the South Omaha Latino Community has been hosting Mexican festivals in the area since 1920.
