Halloween Pop-Up Bars & Parties in Omaha

The Cottonwood’s Pool Club transforms into Hotel Immortale, a 1930s hotel with crimson draping, antique brass, vintage lights and bellhops. Some of the guests never checked out. The menu takes inspiration from classic hotel bars and late-night room service, with cocktails and bites such as charcuterie, pickled deviled eggs and chili.

When: Oct. 8–31, Thursdays through Saturdays, 5–11 p.m.

Black Lagoon brings its touring Halloween cocktail pop-up to Nite Owl. Expect eerie decor, cinematic lighting and a seasonal drink menu. Announced cocktails include the rum-based Abyssa’s Obsession and tequila-based Bone Temple. Bad Omen offers a nonalcoholic option.

When: Sept. 30-Nov. 1

Barnato brings a Halloween twist to its speakeasy with seasonal cocktails. Try the Applejacks, made with apple brandy, lemon and cinnamon, or Cruel Intentions, a bourbon cocktail with blueberry, lemon and pinot noir foam.

When: Wednesdays through Saturdays during spooky season.

Fizzy’s goes “Back to the Future” with “Fizz to the Future,” a pop-up featuring themed drinks and food specials. Order a “Save the Clocktower” cocktail made with thyme-infused reposado tequila, orange, vanilla, lime and orange bitters.

Edge of the Universe will celebrate Halloween with a live DJ, costume party and a drinks menu inspired by the work of horror writer H.P. Lovecraft. This cafe takes whimsical decor to the next level year-round, so dress to impress.

“Highly Spirited in the Midwest” pairs local dark history with an after-hours paranormal investigation at Joslyn Castle. Hear presentations in the Carriage House, then explore the castle with an investigative group. A bar will be open throughout the evening. Have fun with your costume.

“Legends & Libations: Scary on the Prairie” brings six storytellers to Joslyn Castle to share ghost stories, legends and strange tales from Nebraska’s past. Guests will travel through the castle in guided groups, and each ticket includes three cocktails inspired by the stories. An art show by Katie Martin will be on view in the Carriage House before each showing.

When: Thursday, Oct. 8, with showings at 7 and 9 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes before each showing. Tickets are $40; ages 21 and older.

Climb aboard Ollie the Trolley’s Haunted Cemetery Tour for stories from Omaha’s “Wicked Little City” era. Costumed historians dressed as undertakers lead the two-hour tour, which includes historic cemetery locations such as Westlawn-Hillcrest and Prospect Hill.

When: Sundays, Oct. 4–Nov. 1, 2–4 p.m. Pickup is at Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery, near 57th and Center streets. Tickets are $42.95 per person.

Grab your witch hat and gather at 13th and Howard streets for the Old Market Witches Walk. After a group walk through the historic neighborhood, explore participating businesses for Halloween activities and specials.

Keep your costume handy for Benson’s Witch Walk. Edge of the Universe hosts the celebration on Maple Street, with festivities planned from noon to midnight. Check the organizer’s page for the full schedule as the event approaches.

“Macabre at the Manor” opens all three floors of Joslyn Castle for an evening inspired by Victorian fascination with the spirit world. Explore tarot and medium readings, handwriting analysis, magic, a mourning history exhibit and live music at your own pace. Costumes are encouraged, and the castle bar will serve a featured cocktail, beer, wine and soda.

At “Night Light: The Unknown: Edge of Reality”, Kiewit Luminarium’s evening program heads into the realms of mystery. Come in costume for an after-hours experience exploring the boundaries of what we know.

Kick off Halloween weekend with the Damones performing two sets of music from “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” along with their own songs. Benn Sieff joins as a special guest.

“It’s a 2000s (Halloween) Party” turns Halloween night into a throwback dance party. Dress in a costume or your best Y2K look and dance to DJ sets packed with pop, hip-hop, R&B and rock hits from the 2000s and 2010s.
