The Slowdown, the brainchild of the folks behind Saddle Creek Records, opened in 2007 to give the Omaha area a unique indie rock venue. Benson is home to some of the coolest venues in the city including The Waiting Room Lounge, which offers a variety of live musical performances nearly every night from local, national, and international acts. Other funky neighborhood bars serving up music include Barley St. Tavern, The Sydney and Reverb Lounge.
Omaha Performing Arts provides the best Broadway, jazz, blues, dance, comedy family, and popular entertainment. Its landmark venues, the Orpheum Theater and Holland Performing Arts Center, present world-class performances and events year-round.
