Things to Do in Dundee

Visiting the historic Dundee neighborhood is a culinary excursion for foodies craving travel-worthy food. Dundee’s flavor is a mix of tender pork belly meat, juicy burgers, garlic-filled pasta, savory mozzarella, and sweet-salty-creamy-gooey-everything-you-crave-and-more ice cream.

Chef-based restaurants serving locally sourced ingredients in artfully presented dishes fill the neighborhood with tempting scents. Indulge in coal-fire pizza at Pitch Pizzeria, Northern Italian fare at  Avoli Osteria, and a mixture of European fare at Amsterdam Falafel & Kabob. Cap off dinner with ice cream at  eCreamery, an Oprah fav, and check out Dundee Dell’s Scotch whisky collection - one of the nation’s largest.

Dundee’s specialty retail shops add pizzazz to your shopping excursion. Peruse American-made furniture and decor from designers Roger Hazard (from A&E's Sell This House! fame) and Omaha native Chris Stout at Roger + Chris, shop a curated collection of vintage, preowned and new women’s apparel at Albany and Avers, and pour your own unique scent at Dundee Candle Co.

Dundee Fun Fact: In 1945 during WWII a Japanese balloon bomb exploded over Dundee. Very few of these Japanese bombs made it that far inland. Today, a plaque commemorates where the bomb exploded (Can you find it? Hint – It’s located in the perfect place to get the “scoop” on what’s happening in Dundee).
