This charming family-run restaurant specializes in cuisine from the owner-chef’s home region of southern India’s Kerala state. Peruse the house specials to find shrimp stewed in coconut milk with turmeric, ginger, garlic and curry leaves and a salmon dish covered in spices and grilled in a banana leaf. The selections aren’t limited to one region, though. Dishes from throughout the delicious continent of India – like tandoori chicken from Punjab – also find tasty representation at Kinaara. Meat is on the menu (the braised lamb shank is a must for omnivores). Still, vegetarians and vegans will find much to enjoy, like dal, vegetable curry, channa masala and tofu and coconut-based tikka masala.
