By: Stephanie We haven't been on a vacation since before Grace was born. It's been WAY too long and I've been itching to get out of town. Mike wasn't too thrilled about taking the kids on a fancy vacation this year since we've been very focused on getting out of debt so I decided to check out kid-friendly vacation spots near Kansas City. Its about 2.5-3 hrs from Des Moines, so my mom and nephew came with us! We made a day out of it and went to the amazing Omaha Zoo and then stayed at a hotel really close by. We got there shortly after the zoo opened and spent 6 hours there and still didn't see it all... Read More…

By: Megan The Omaha Fashion Week events brought us up to Omaha, but on this weekend getaway we just couldn't pass up another visit to the zoo. They really have one of the best zoos, and earlier this summer, we only made it through less than half! This time, we concentrated on the indoor exhibits, starting with the Aquarium, which is really cool. Read More…

By: Pretty, Polished, Perfect We spent most of Labor Day Weekend doing chores inside and out; we played for most of August, shirking our adult responsibilities. Travel, blogging, back-to-school, weddings and more made it a fantastic (if not busy) month. We sent summer out with a bang this year, heading North to Omaha for one last quick family retreat…
