Quick Weekend Getaway to Omaha!

Last weekend, we headed up north to Omaha for a quick weekend away. Some of my husband's family lives in Omaha, so I've been there toooons of times, and especially since having kids, the trip is usually pretty similar each time. But this time, some of our good friends - a family of four - decided to come with us, which ended up offering a new twist to our typical Omaha trip!

The Omaha Fashion Week events brought us up to Omaha, but on this weekend getaway we just couldn't pass up another visit to the zoo. They really have one of the best zoos, and earlier this summer, we only made it through less than half! This time, we concentrated on the indoor exhibits, starting with the Aquarium, which is really cool.

Omaha Fashion Week

As I mentioned yesterday, I had the pleasure of hitting the road for quick 3 hour drive from Kansas City to Omaha last weekend in pursuit of fashion inspiration and family fun. The weekend started with a thunderstorm, but quickly cleared up just in time for my first Omaha Fashion Week experience. Located downtown in a large white tent (that survived the intense thunderstorm, thankfully), pumped with air conditioning, drinks and fashionistas, it felt like I pictured NYFW to be like.

Omaha Fashion Week outfit

You may have caught bits and pieces of my past weekend if you follow me on Instagram. I was in Omaha for a very full weekend of some major family and fashion fun, two of the best kinds! Erin of Pretty, Polished, Perfect and I were invited to Omaha Fashion Week and a lovely stay at the Magnolia Hotel (where these photos were taken - seriously, such a pretty place), so we happily packed our heels (wedges), cute outfits, extra lipsticks and, of course, our families and hit the road.
