Being an Omaha “dive” is considered a badge of honor. These dining hot spots trade in the frill for a big punch of flavor. California Tacos and More is a classic Omaha dive with a long history of serving signature tacos with Mexican flair. Featured on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, this Omaha staple is affectionately known as “Cali” Taco among its ever-growing fan base.

Let’s dig deep into the taco. Housemade fried, puffy taco shells are stuffed (and we mean stuffed) with meat, lettuce and cheese. Locals will argue over what makes the best filling – beef, steak, chicken, or beans – but the truth is each option is seasoned to perfection and served in heaping mounds. Over at the toppings bar, folks finish building their perfect taco by adding pico de gallo, jalapenos, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, etc. It’s heaven in a shell. Though the tacos steal the show, other menu items include cheesy enchiladas, massive burritos, and fresh taco salads.
